The village Kranenburg lies on the Lower Rhine in the northwest part of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the district Kleve in region Düsseldorf. It is situated on the Dutch border near Nimwegen.
SightsThe mill tower is a part of ancient fortification and it is an important part of the historic town center of Kranenburg. It was built as part of the city walls with a total of 9 towers in 1400. Gehlberg is located in county Ilm-Kreis in the region Thuringia. Gehlberg lies on the northern slopes of the Thuringian Forest on a plateau between the valleys Wilder Gera and Zahmer Gera. The site extends from about 680 to 750 meters altitude. The village is only about 600 meters from the district Grund and only about one kilometer west of the 978 meter high Schneekopf, the second highest mountain in Thuringia.
