Schwäbisch Gmünd is a town in eastern Baden-Württemberg, which is located about 50 km east of Stuttgart. It is the second largest town in the district Ostalbkreises.

SightsEllwangen Palace Museum contains magnificent rooms of valuable Schrezheim faience (pottery), baroque nativity scenes, clock and rooms for dolls. Great art-historical significance has the church of St. Vitus (ordained on the October the 3rd, 1233), which dominates the city. It is a three-aisled cross basilica from 12th century and is considered the most important Romanesque basilica with vaults in Swabia.
