Hooksiel is a coastal resort in the district Friesland, on the east Friesland such as a fishing and tourist town Büsum. The village lies about 14 kilometers northwest of Wilhelmshaven, and 10 km northeast from the county town of Jever. The town has several historic buildings, most notably the town hall. Hooksiel is a seaside resort with artificial grass and sandy beaches. It offers sports facilities from tennis and horseback riding, sailing and surfing to golf at the nearby golf course.There is usable year-round indoor pool with sea water and artificial waves.

It is not only German seaside resort, it has also its own source of sulfur, hence has the name "North Sea spa and sulfur." The Hamburg City Hall is one of the few fully-preserved examples of historicism in Germany. The three-winged granite and sandstone building has a 111 meter wide front with a 112 meter high central tower. The roof is copper covered. The outstanding combination of Italian and North German Renaissance elements make the overall harmonious effect.

The Miniature Wonderland in Hamburg is the largest model of railway in the world. It is located in the historic warehouse district and runs by the Miniature Wonderland Hamburg GmbH. On the 1150 square meters surface area, with 12 km of tracks, on a scale of 1:87, operate 850 digitally-controlled trains.

The best known and most striking part of Alster is the Alstersee (Alster Lake), which is formed in the inner city area of Hamburg by the internal and outer Alster. The buildings around the Alster are often characterized by white walls and copper roofs of offices and commercial buildings since the late nineties.
