The Hamburg City Hall is one of the few fully-preserved examples of historicism in Germany. The three-winged granite and sandstone building has a 111 meter wide front with a 112 meter high central tower. The roof is copper covered. The outstanding combination of Italian and North German Renaissance elements make the overall harmonious effect.

Miniature Wonderland

The Miniature Wonderland in Hamburg is the largest model of railway in the world. It is located in the historic warehouse district and runs by the Miniature Wonderland Hamburg GmbH. On the 1150 square meters surface area, with 12 km of tracks, on a scale of 1:87, operate 850 digitally-controlled trains.

Alster

The best known and most striking part of Alster is the Alstersee (Alster Lake), which is formed in the inner city area of Hamburg by the internal and outer Alster. The buildings around the Alster are often characterized by white walls and copper roofs of offices and commercial buildings since the late nineties.
