Rijeka is the principal seaport and the third largest city in Croatia. Historically, because of its strategic position and its excellent deep-water Port of Rijeka, the city was fiercely contested, especially between Italy, Hungary, and Croatia, changing hands and demographics many times over centuries.

Rijeka is the center of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Croatia. The city''s economy largely depends on shipbuilding and maritime transport. Rijeka hosts the Croatian National Theatre as well as the University of Rijeka, founded in 1973 but with roots dating back to 1632. By ferry you can get from Rijeka to another croatian seaports as Split or Dubrovnik.

Lovran is a town in Istria, on southern Opatia Riviera. It is situated on the western coast of the Kvarner Bay.

Lovran is one of the oldest coastal settlements on the eastern shore of Istrian peninsula. The region is rich with cultural-historical heritage. A parish church with medieval frescoes and Glagolitic inscriptions, and the 14th century tower of St George´s Square within the old urban core, as well as rural ambiances and architectural edifices – namely turn-of-the-century villas with surrounding parks, are general points of interest.

Split is by far the largest Dalmatian city and the second-largest city of Croatia. Spread over a central peninsula and its surroundings, Split''s greater area includes the surrounding seaside towns as well. An intraregional transport hub, the city is a link to numerous Adriatic islands and the Apennine peninsula, as well as a popular tourist destination.

Split is also one of the oldest cities in the area. While it is traditionally considered just over 1,700 years old counting from the construction of Diocletian''s Palace in AD 305, archaeological research relating to the original founding of the city as the Greek colony of Aspálathos in the 6th century BC, establishes the urban tradition of the area as being several centuries older.

Split Airport is also known as the Resnik Airport and is the third largest airport in Croatia.
