In the southern Black Forest are large height differences between the peaks and valleys of energy storage of water to be used as pumped storage power plants, like the Hornberg reservoir or dam Schluchsee. As the name suggests, the Black Forest is rich in trees and forests and has been used traditionally for timber.

Great art-historical significance has the church of St. Vitus (ordained on the October the 3rd, 1233), which dominates the city. It is a three-aisled cross basilica from 12th century and is considered the most important Romanesque basilica with vaults in Swabia. Numerous lakes around Ellwangen guarantee water recreation and entertainment.

Silbach is part of the town in the region Winterberg in the district Hochsauerlandkreis, in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Silbach is located in the northern highlands Rothaargebirge about 5 km northwest from the center of Winterberg. In the summer it is an ideal tourist area, the path leads to the Rothaargebirge mountains directly around the village. In winter Silbach is surrounded by an extensive network of well-kept trails. Hotels and guest houses in the village have an excellent reputation, and so many tourist spend in Silbach all holidays.
Bus to WinterbergThe bus to Winterberg and runs in the opposite direction every hour on weekdays. Both train-and bus services can be used free of charge with the Sauerland Card as often as you want.
