Fürth is a district town of the district Fürth in the Bavarian region of Central Franconia, east of Nuremberg. Centers of both cities are located approximately seven miles apart. The historical center is located east and south of the river Rednitz and Pegnitz.

The municipality of Cölbe lies on the southern edge of the Burgwaldes (forest), part of the West Hessian Mountain country.
