Biograd is administratively part of the Zadar County. It is located on the Adriatic Sea coast, overlooking the island of Pašman, on the road from Zadar and Sukošan towards Vodice and Šibenik.

According to some reports, in Roman times there was building of an amphitheater for holding gladiatorial games. In Gornji Karin and surroundings there are several sights. One of them is a river Kraka canyon and waterfalls of Bijela Rijeka, as well as the Franciscan monastery, a natural mud and National Park.
