Lam village is situated near the Czech border in the Bavarian forest in a narrow valley Lamer Winkels together with municipalities Arrach and Lohberg. The valley is surrounded by high hills Tall Arber, and Sharp and by ridge Kaitersberg and Tall Arc (Hoher Bogen).
SightsCatholic Church of St. Ulrich including Gothic tower, was after the great fire of the city in 1699 built in 1765 again. Shrine of the Virgin Mary is located in the local area Himmelreich, which lies in a mountain saddle and ridge leading to mount Sharp. It was built in 1752 and in 1851 was rebuilt in neo-Romanesque style. Aqaucentrum Osserbad in Lam is year-round used water park.
