Bad Reichenhall is a large district and county city in the district Berchtesgadener Land in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria. The city is surrounded on all sides by mountains.

Bad Reichenhall is a spa town with numerous salt springs and salt baths. Bad Reichenhall is a historical place of production of salt. There are several salt springs. You will find the parish church of St. Nicholas with the three-aisled Romanesque basilica from the second half of the 12th century with frescoes in the apse and with the Way of the Cross by Moritz von Schwind. There is a local history museum and salt museum, Gruttenstein medieval castle from the 12th century, castle Marzoll built around 1527 and the parish church of St. Valentine from the 8th century.
