One of the best known and most beautiful characteristic symbols of the city Amberg are "Amberg town glasses ",arched bridge over the river Vils, which once served as the city''s fortifications. Double belt of the city walls with towers and gates, the Gothic Town Hall with Renaissance body, massive churches and numerous other historical buildings form a unique look of the city. Here, between the Jurassic formation and Upper Palatinate forest stretches an ideal landscape for hiking trails and a large network of bicycle paths.
