Speyer is historically and culturally significant city in the district Speyer. The town is located in the Upper Rhine valley at the mouth of the river Rhine to Speyer.
SightsThe most famous building is the Romanesque Cathedral of Our Lady and St. Stephen, where are buried many medieval emperors and kings, and in 1310 there married John of Luxembourg. Speyer own "Jewish Court" with the oldest completely preserved mikveh of 12 Century. On the outskirts of the town is interesting museum dedicated to technical resources, and particularly transport aircraft including the Boeing 747-230.
