Vaterstetten is the most populous city of Upper Bavaria district of Ebersberg. Vaterstetten is located about 17 km east of Munich and 18 km west of the town of Ebersberg. It is the city with the most separately protected monuments in Germany. The house of the executioner- Finstetor- is located by the old town wall in the suburb of St. Nicholas. It is the only fully-preserved half-timbered house in the town. Already in the years 1234-1245 the Church of the Holy Trinity was built at the gates of the town.
