Amberg is a district town in the Upper Palatinate in eastern Bavaria in Germany in the district of the same name Amberg. The historical town Amberg is one of the best preserved medieval town complexes in Europe. One of the best known and most beautiful characteristic symbols of the city Amberg are "Amberg town glasses ",arched bridge over the river Vils, which once served as the city''s fortifications. Double belt of the city walls with towers and gates, the Gothic Town Hall with Renaissance body, massive churches and numerous other historical buildings form a unique look of the city. Here, between the Jurassic formation and Upper Palatinate forest stretches an ideal landscape for hiking trails and a large network of bicycle paths.

AttractionsEvangelical Church of the Apostles is the oldest church building in the city. The Martin Luther Church was built in 1857-1861 by architect Christian Heyden. It is a neo-Gothic hall church with western tower. The interior is equipped with a rotating gallery and a chandelier from the 1659th hangs here. Tourist attractions in the town are : Spieker at the Old Church Square, House Kirchstraße 21, Veerhoffhaus, Church of the Apostles, Old churchyard, Meiers mill and The Weber House. The Water Tower was put into operation in 1888 and was temporarily used as a café. City Park was built between 1908-09 in the area of the flow of the river Dalke and it is considered one of the most beautiful parks in Germany. The city has 24 sports facilities and 39 sports halls, three outdoor and two indoor pools.
