Landau in der Pfalz is a free city and administrative seat of the district Südliche Weinstrasse, in federal country Rhineland-Palatinate. Metropolis in the southern Palatinate is a university town and one of the largest wine-producing towns in Germany.

Norderney is 14 km long, from the widest points to the west end and in the middle of the island its width is up to 2.5 km and with 26.3 km ² it is the tenth largest German island. The city is in region Lower Saxony.
