Bad Dürkheim is a spa and county town in the metropolitan region Rhine-Neckar on the edge of the Pfälzerwaldes (Palatinate Forest). It is the seat of the district Bad Dürkheim. Bad Dürkheim is located on the eastern edge of the Palatinate Forest on the German Wine Road, about 30 km east of Kaiserslautern, and about 20 km west of Ludwigshafen and Mannheim. Approximately 15 km south of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse. Through Bad Dürkheim run the federal highways 37 and 271. From west to east the Isenach river flows through the city.

The Frankfurter Roemer is one of the most beautiful Town Halls in the republic and for over 600 years the seat of city government. Here are the duty room of the Mayor, the Chamber of the City Council and the meeting hall of the Municipality. Walking through the historic rooms of the Goethe House is not only childhood and youth of the great poet. Today, his birthplace is also connected with a good museum. Between year 1998 and 2000 there was built and designed the "Forest Spiral" by the famous artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Run down here to the Danube, Inn and Ilz. Thanks to its picturesque and baroque architecture the city is frequently visited by tourists. You can take a boat cruise around Passau and the surrounding towns.
