Mülheim an der Ruhr is a city in the Ruhr area in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia in district of Mülheim. The city is classified as a regional center. Located in the Ruhr region, including neighboring cities of Duisburg and Essen, as well as near the state capital Düsseldorf. The oldest surviving building of the castle and monastery Saarn Broich.
