Lauenstein is located in the upper part of the town Müglitztal Altenberg in the district Saxon Switzerland - Eastern Ore Mountains in the region of Saxony. Lauenstein is located about 40 km south of Dresden in Eastern Ore Mountains.

GörlitzGörlitz suffered almost no damage during the Second World War and has a number of protected historical, buildings and it is one of the best preserved old towns in Europe. It is the city with the most separately protected monuments in Germany. The house of the executioner- Finstetor- is located by the old town wall in the suburb of St. Nicholas. It is the only fully-preserved half-timbered house in the town. Already in the years 1234-1245 the Church of the Holy Trinity was built at the gates of the town.
