Timmendorfer Strand is a municipality in the region Ostholstein in Schleswig-Holstein. The Timmendorfer Strand is located 15 kilometers north of Lübeck on the Baltic coast. Neighboring municipalities are Scharbeutz on the north, Ratekau and Lübeck on south-west, Travemünde district in the east.

The coast of Lübeck bay is 6.5 kilometers long. On its bottom there is located at 43 meters below sea the lowest nature created level point in Germany. Another typical feature of the landscape around Timmendorfer Strand are the nature projected alleys.
