The Acorn Inn is an award-winning 16th-century inn with a restaurant which has received accolades from Condé Nast Traveller and the Sunday Telegraph. It offers luxurious bed and breakfast accommodation in Dorset, with modern conveniences and rustic period style in the form of wooden beams, flagstone floors and open fires. All rooms at The Acorn have en suite bathrooms or shower rooms, with TV, tea and coffee facilities and free Wi-Fi. Furnishings are lavish and rooms are named from Thomas Hardy's 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles’, in which the inn was mentioned as 'The Sow and Acorn'. A full English breakfast is served each morning, with locally produced bacon, eggs and sausages, amongst lighter options. The Acorn’s highly-regarded restaurant offers a wide choice of dishes for lunch and dinner, including Dorset lamb, beer-battered fish and chips and Gressingham duck. The village of Evershot is around 20 minutes north of Dorchester, the historic county town of Dorset. The coastal resorts of Weymouth and Lyme Regis are 30-40 minutes away.
