Extensive landscaped park on the outskirts of the center is part of the green corridor along the few-kilometers-long river Ilm. Weimar is due to many historical sites, museums, galleries, theater and many other historical monuments, the most important destination for urban tourism in Thuringia. Thuringian sausages are renowned local specialty.
