Schleswig is a town in northern Schleswig-Holstein. It is a district town in the district Schleswig-Flensburg, the former capital and seat of the duchies of Schleswig Higher Regional Court in Schleswig-Holstein.
SightsSt. Peter´s Cathedral dominates the city of Schleswig and is visible from afar. East of town lies the fishing village of Holm with old fishing cottages. At the end of Süderholmstrasse is the monastery of St. John, along with a museum of the Bible. Schleswig City is home for many museums. Local and State Theatre Symphony Orchestra is the largest provincial theater in Germany.
