The new City Hall is on the town square Rathausplatz and you can not miss it. From the tower the chime sounds daily at 12 a.m. The town hall was a long time the university „Collegium Universititas“. Market at the Cathedral on the Munsterplatz (Cathedral Square) in Freiburg. Only 1 km from Merzhausen there is the Museum of Contemporary Art - it is the Art Museum of the City Museum in Freiburg im Breisgau. This building is located in the Marienstrasse 10a, it is housed in the former public school for girls -Adelhausen. The building was built in 1902 in a historic style and in 1984-1985 rebuilt by the Adelhauser foundation for the new use.
