Port city
Ancona is a port city with more than 100 thousands inhabitants on the Italian Adriatic coast.
Ancona is the capital of the Marche Region and the Province of Ancona. Ancona is located 200 kilometers northeast of Rome and 210 miles southeast of Bologna. Ancona has a ferry ports on the Adriatic Sea to the Greek cities of Patras and Igoumenitsa. Ancona also has an airport.
The main of all sights in town is Cathedral of San Ciriaco, which can be found on the hill above the town. It was built between 1128 to 1189.
