The Backpack is South Africa’s award winning, Fair Trade accredited backpacker, which invests in people and communities, giving meaningful and relaxed, travel experiences. The Backpack offers a variety of room types, from private en suites to social dormitories, each individually styled for this trendy city hostel. A continental breakfast is served every morning and the café/bar stays open until late every night. There is also a self-catering kitchen. On the property there is a community craft shop and travel desk, free fibre optic WiFi and parking, swimming pool and garden, pool table, luggage storage, lockers and laundry service. The Backpack is situated within walking distance of many bars, restaurants and popular attractions like Green Market Square, Company's Gardens and the Bo-Kaap. It is a 5-minute taxi or bus ride from V&A Waterfront and the Table Mountain Cable Car Station.
