Angera is known for his powerful fortress of Rocca di Angera or the Castle, situated on a promontory that dominates the surroundings of Lake Maggiore. In the center of Angera there stands the church of Santa Maria Assunta and the Archaeological Museum of Angera.
The museum houses finds from the Roman period of Angera. Along the lake Lago Maggiore stretches a promenade through the Angera, the lakefront, and the marina.
