City

Mainz is the capital and largest city in Rhineland-Palatinate, district Mainz. The city lies on the west (left) bank of the Rhine, which forms the eastern boundary of the city. Over the river led five bridges. City of Mainz is the seat of the second German television (ZDF).

Sights

The city has several theaters, the largest and most important is the State Theatre of Mainz. National Museum in Mainz was founded in 1803 and is one of the oldest museums in Germany. Mainz is the ideal starting point for trips to the area that is rich for spending leisure time. The High Mainz Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mainz, and is under the patronage of St. Martin of Tours.
