Schliersee is located on the northeastern shore of the lake and it is a popular holiday resort in the Bavarian Alps in the district of Miesbach. There is the Gothic church of St. George from the 14th century with a baroque altar in the city. There are beautiful views of the city and the lake from the hill. The Baroque church of St. Martin is on the northern outskirts of the town.
