The Black Forest is densely forested goes from the Upper Rhine in the south to the north Kraichgau. To the west it is bounded by the Upper Rhine Valley and the East, he goes west to Gäu, Baar and the hill country of Klettgau. The region has a length of 160 km  and breadth of up to 60 km. The Black Forest is Germany's largest contiguous mountain range in Baden-Württemberg.
