Saxon Switzerland is formed  the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Known by the bizarre rock forms the landscape in southeast of Dresden on both sides of the Elbe. In the area of Saxon Switzerland there were castles, which were designed to protect the trade routes. Only Königstein Castle and Hohnstein Castle remained. From other castles are only remnants and now are climbing summits (Small Bastion and Castle Falkenstein).
