Old town in Dachau

Location

Dachau is a larger district town of Upper Bavaria district Dachau, and it is located northwest of Munich.

Attractions

Local attractions include the old town,the town hall and the English garden on the courtyard of the chateau. The remarkable religious buildings include the parish church of St. James or St. Lawrence in Etzenhausenu, its present form was established mainly in the period from the year 1500.

Concentration camp

Dachau is known mainly for the location of the former Dachau concentration camp from the time of National Socialism. In memory of this period is found in the Dachau Museum of the Holocaust.
