Location

Leimen is a town in northwest Baden-Württemberg, about seven kilometers south of Heidelberg. It is the third largest town in the district Rhein-Neckar-Kreises.

Historical sites

The town hall with The Hall of Mirrors, the former palace of Aaron Elias Seligmann, later of Baron von Eichthal, is a representative building in the center of the town. The French tower with the rest of the city walls is a symbol of the town. Evangelical Church of St. Maurice was built in 1681/83, rebuilt after the destruction in 1732 and in 1932 construction expanded. In Bettendorff''s castle in Gauangelloch now a gallery is located. The town hall in the suburb of St. Ilgen has a carillon of Meissen porcelain.
