Castle in Vohenstrauss

Location

Vohenstrauss is a town in the Upper Palatinate, in the district Neustadt an der Waldnaab. The town is located in the front Upper Palatinate Forest, about 17 km southeast of Weiden in der Oberpfalz.

Sights

The city has two museums. Vohenstrauss City Museum and the Museum of gems. You will find the castle Friedrichsburg and the castle Waldau. The Evangelical Lutheran parish church in the marketplace came into its present form since 1845 after the destruction of the previous fire in 1839 and 1763. War memorial in the square is five meters tall Corinthian column of red sandstone.
